Shortly after 2 a.m. on January 1st of 2009 Bay Area Rapid Transit police officers responded to a call concerning an altercation. While some young men were handcuffed, others, such as Oscar Grant III, was not. At the Fruitvale BART station, while onlookers captured this horrific act on cell phone cameras, Officer Johannes Mehserle shot Grant in the back at point blank range. Just before Mehserle was to meet with investigators he effectively resigned, invoked his fifth amendment rights and secured a criminal attorney, refusing to answer any and all questions concerning Grant and the shooting. More still, Mehserle have yet to be charged with any crime and the proper officials in Oakland has not adequately addressed the situation (that is the nicest way I could have put it). Grant's family aquired Civil Rights Attorney John Burris, and filed a 25 million dollar wrongful death. Please be warned the video is chilling. I was not shocked, as racism long ago ceased to amaze me.

This has got to be the biggest load of crap I have heard about this year! The fact that the biggots in blue haven't arrested this prick is beyond me. Poor Mr. Grant was shot while they had him face down on the concrete. Although i agree that racism has ceased to suprize me, it still makes me sick to my stomach. Brad
